On the opening screen you will find a Speaker Icon in the top left of the screen. When you first run Alphabet Soup, the audio help (Grey Olltwit speaking basic instructions) is turned on. To turn this feature off, including when the program is run again, simply click on the Speaker Icon and it will be covered with a red cross. To turn audio help back on, just click it again.
Alphabet Soup is divided into 3 Levels. Level 1 is for beginners. It has audio instructions on how to play and for each question. Scoring is 10 points for each correct letter. Level 2 is for more advanced players and does not have the audio questions. Scoring is 20 points for each correct letter. Level 3 is similar to Level 2 except you play against the clock and score up to 40 points for each correct letter chosen depending on how quickly you play.
To Play
Each level has a soup bowl filled with alphabet soup. For those that don't know this type of soup, it is basically tomato with pasta letter shapes.
Next to the bowl is a soup spoon. To start the game you must click on the soup spoon and the soup will be stirred. This jumbles up the letters of the alphabet. When your mouse pointer turns to a flashing hand over the letters, you can click on them to pick them out of the soup. Correctly chosen letters will appear below the soup bowl.
Change the letters to uppercase by clicking the button under Grey Olltwit. You can change them back to lowercase letters at any time by clicking the same button. Click the Try A New Level button to take you back to the menu/titles screen to choose a new level. When you make a score above 100 a Certificate scroll will appear on the left of each screen next to Grey Olltwit. Clicking it will take you to the Certificate screen.

Tip: To print anything just press the Print Screen button (PrtSc) on your keyboard and then paste the picture into a paint program. Then crop the picture to the area you want and save it or print it. For more help click here.
